Rangeela, Ceiling light, 2023
The Chiaroscuro of Being
Hand-cut bangles, Acrylic, LED, Brass
7x31x172 cm
Rangeela is a vibrant collaboration with the masterful glass artisans of Firozabad. This project showcases meticulously hand-cut bangles, artfully arranged on acrylic to create an enchanting internal glow. The design captures a warped ray of light, symbolizing the beautiful distortion of memories under the weight of time. Rangeela is a look at traditional glasswork with a contemporary lens; an exploration how light and glass can evoke deep, personal reflections, transforming them into a mesmerizing art form.
One-of-a-kind usage of hand-cut bangles and LED illumination creates a dynamic visual experience, where light dances through the acrylic, casting intricate patterns and shadows. This fusion of materials and techniques highlights the gloriously evocative power of light.
Rangeela invites viewers to immerse themselves in its luminous beauty, encouraging a deeper contemplation of memory and perception. It stands as a testament to traditional craftsmanship, reimagined through a uniquely modern artistic vision.
